We are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue of Education and Contemporary Culture, the journal published by the Post-Graduate Programme in Education of UNESA (PPGE/UNESA), based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The issue will be organised by members of the TICPE group and will be entitled Education and Technologies: contexts and singularities.
A broad scope is proposed, as follows:
Discourses and practices surrounding ICTs permeate contemporary Education. The presence-lack of these technologies has been noted and discussed from a variety of perspectives, and positions ranges from a priori, acritical rejection to, on the other extreme, a view of digital technologies as ‘solutions’ for educational problems.
Issue 42 (April 2019) of Education and Contemporary Culture, to be entitled ‘Education and Technologies: contexts and singularities’, aims at presenting a range of perspectives that consider differences and singularities.
We encourage submissions that favour culturally-contextualised approaches dealing with contingencies and singular experiences.
Important: when you submit your article, choose the relevant ‘thematic section’ to indicate you wish your work to be considered for publication on this special issue.
The journal accepts submissions in Portuguese, English and French.
Articles should be submitted on the journal system by 15 October 2018.
